PAK vs SA: Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha Light Up Karachi With Twin Centuries Against South Africa

PAK vs SA: Pakistan's preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 received a major boost as Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha smashed centuries in Karachi on Wednesday to keep their side in contention against South Africa in the ongoing tri-nation series.

Chasing a mammoth 353-run target, the Men in Green found themselves in deep trouble at 91/3, raising fears of another defeat. However, Rizwan (106 off 106 balls) and Salman (100 off 87 balls) turned the game around with a remarkable 200-plus run partnership, steering Pakistan towards victory.

Champions Trophy

The tri-series, featuring Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand, is a key preparatory event for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Having lost their opening match, Pakistan needed a win in Karachi to stay in the hunt for the final.

With the pressure mounting, Rizwan led from the front as captain, playing a responsible yet aggressive knock. Salman Agha, on the other hand, complemented him perfectly, maintaining a high strike rate and ensuring that Pakistan remained in control of the chase.

If the Rizwan-led side manage to win this match, they will be taking on New Zealand in the summit clash on 14th February.

Early on, South Africa with the help of three 80+ scores from Bavuma, Breetzke and Klaasen and a late surge 44 from Verreynne helped the Proteas put up a huge total of 352. But the bowlers didn't live up to the expectations in the run-chase.

At the time of writing this article, the home side were at 323/3 with Rizwan and Salman at the crease with a score of 113 and 120 respectively.
