PAK-W vs SL-W Women's T20 World Cup 2024: Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in a high-octane clash in the second match of the Women’s T20 World Cup at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday, October 3.
After a winless warm-up to the World Cup, Pakistan will look to put the gloom behind them with a win against Sri Lanka, who have been quite excellent in their build-up to the event. In their two warm-up games, Sri Lanka comfortably defeated both Bangladesh and Scotland.

Both teams have been placed in a tough group which contains the reigning champion Australia as well as giants such as India and New Zealand. However, Asia Cup winner Sri Lanka will back themselves to go through to the next stage if they can start the tournament with a win.
As for their opponents Pakistan, the Women in Green will enter the competition without any high expectations, but the team led by the new captain Fatima Sana will look to upset the status quo with some good performances in the tournament.
Despite their contrasting recent fortunes, Pakistan Women and Sri Lanka Women have very close head-to-head records, with the former having a slender lead.
Out of the 20 matches played between the two, Pakistan have emerged victorious 10 times, while Sri Lanka have won nine times. One match ended in no result.
The two teams are yet to play each other in a T20 World Cup match. However, they have faced each other thrice in T20 Asia Cup, with Pakistan winning all three matches against their opponents.
