Pak cricket team likely to tour US in 2010

Lahore, Feb.12 (ANI) : A full strength Pakistan cricket team is likely to tour the United States (US) later this year.

The decision was taken during a meeting between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and United States of America Cricket Association (USACA) officials in Dubai.

"The dates and types of matches to be played for the series has not yet been agreed, but assurances were made by both parties that a long term agreement to play in the USA will begin with a series later in 2010," The Daily Times quoted a PCB official, as saying.

The spokesperson said the proposed series would help cricket grow in the US.

"Pakistan playing as a full member in the USA is in line with the ICC policy to grow the sport in countries such as the USA and as the negotiations continue we hope a series will be played later this year," he informed.

He expressed the hope that a T20 series in the US would attract huge interest from Pakistanis and Indians living in that country.

It is worth mentioning here the USACA has even offered to organise India-Pakistan cricket series in order to decrease the prevailing tension between two countries. (ANI)
