The Pakistan cricket board has announced a new head coach for the limited overs format on Monday (October 28).
The decision comes after Gary Kirsten's departure from the helm within six months of his appointment.

Kirsten left his role days ahead of Pakistan's first 50-over assignment against Australia since the 2023 World Cup. The South African's abrupt end came as a shocker to many, but the relationship with PCB became untenable, which led to the departure.
PCB has now announced the new head coach in limited-overs format for Pakistan. Through a statement on social media, PCB appointed Jason Gillespie as the head coach for Pakistan. Gillespie, who is already at the helm in Test cricket, is now set to hone the role across all formats. The statement also confirmed the acceptance of Kirsten's resignation.
"The Pakistan Cricket Board today announced Jason Gillespie will coach the Pakistan men's cricket team on next month's white-ball tour of Australia after Gary Kirsten submitted his resignation, which was accepted," the PCB statement read.
Pakistan will be led by the new captain Mohammad Rizwan in the upcoming series against Australia. They will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in the tour, with the 50-over matches starting next Monday (November 4).
