Pakistan will open their Asia Cup 2023 campaign at home against Nepal in the first round group stage on Wednesday, August 30 at the Multan Cricket Ground in Multan, Pakistan.
Due to India's reluctance to travel to Pakistan, the 50-over tournament is set to be staged in Hybrid format, meaning the Men in Blue will play all their matches in Sri Lanka. So, India vs Pakistan matches will take place in Sri Lanka.

After the opener against Nepal, Pakistan will face their arch-rivals India in their final Group A match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on September 2. If Babar Azam's side progress to the Super 4 stage, they will play their remaining matches in Lahore and Colombo.
If they qualify for the Super 4 round, Pakistan will take A1 spot even if they finish second in Group A, while India will take A2 if they qualify even as table-toppers. But if Nepal manages to qualify, they will take the spot of either India or Pakistan depending on their position in the table.
In Super 4, if they qualify, Pakistan will first face runner up from Group B, either Bangladesh or Afghanistan at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore on September 6. They will next will face India on September 10 in Colombo, where they will face the winner of Group B on September 14.
Even in Group B, Sri Lanka will be B1 and Bangladesh will be B2 if they both qualify for Super 4 regardless of their final positions after first round group stage. If Afghanistan does better than them, they will take the spot of the worst performing team in the group.
