Pakistan chase 36 to beat England by nine wickets and win first home Test series in almost four years

Pakistan won the third Test against England in Rawalpindi by chasing down 36 runs in just 3.1 overs on Saturday, October 26. After wrapping up England's second innings for 112 in the first session of the Day 3, Pakistan raced to the target in just 19 deliveries to register an emphatic nine-wicket win.

Pakistan captain Shan Masood scored 23 unbeaten runs off just six balls, and finished off the match with a six over long-off. The 2-1 win is also Pakistan's first home Test win win since February 2021.

England started from their overnight score of 24/3 and could add only 88 runs as they were bundled out for 112. The collapse was triggered after Harry Brook edged a Noman Ali delivery to wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan.

The left-arm spinner then trapped England captain Ben Stokes in front of the stump. Sajid Khan also joined the party by helping Pakistan get rid of Jamie Smith, who scored 89 in the first innings. Smith was clean bowled by Sajid for three.

Joe Root was the fourth England batter to be dismissed. He departed for 33 off 52 after another good catch from Rizwan off Noman's bowling.

Gus Atkinson and Rehan Ahmed were also clean bowled by off-spinner Sajid Khan before Rizwan-Noman duo got into action again to wrap up the England innings. Jack Leach charged down against Noman only to be stumped by Rizwan.

Sajid Khan was declared player of the series for picking 19 wickets in the two matches, and also scoring 72 runs including 48 not in the first innings of Rawalpindi Test. Saud Shakeel was adjudged Man of the Match for his hundred.
