Following a crucial meeting at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made a significant announcement through a press release concerning its leadership. This meeting marked a pivotal moment for the PCB, as it sought to fill a leadership vacuum that had persisted for over a year.

In a significant development, the PCB's Board of Governors unanimously elected Mohsin Naqvi as the new chairman. Expressing his gratitude and acknowledging the weight of this responsibility, the newly elected chairman conveyed his deep honor and humility at being chosen for this pivotal role.

"I am deeply honoured and humbled to have been unanimously elected as the chairman of the PCB. I am thankful for the trust and confidence reposed in me," Naqvi said following his appointment.

"I am fully committed to upgrading the standard of the game in the country and bringing professionalism in the administration of cricket in Pakistan," he added.

The chairman's election was not just a testament to his standing within the cricketing community but also to the trust and confidence placed in him by the board members. He articulated a strong commitment to elevating the standard of cricket in Pakistan and infusing professionalism into its administration.

The PCB had navigated through challenging times, with the absence of a permanent chairman for thirteen months. This period saw the board being overseen by interim committees, highlighting the urgent need for stable leadership. The election of the new chairman filled the vacancy created by the departure of the previous chief, who resigned amid regulatory challenges, marking a new chapter for the PCB.
