Pakistan cricket team did not join Utthappa's b'day celebrations

By Staff

Lucknow, Nov 11 (UNI) The sparks created due to the on field verbal duel between the Indian and Pakistan cricket players during today's third one-dayer in Kanpur refused to settle down off field as the visitors did not join the birthday celebrations of Robin Uttahapa at Sahara Sahar here tonight.

Pakistani team members after being welcomed at the Sahara Sahar went directly to their cottages at the cricket ground while the Indian players celebrated Uttahapa's 22nd birthday.

Sahara Parivar director Sushanto Roy, however, clarified that the Pakistan team might have skipped the birthday celebrations as they were tired after the day-long match.

''The Pakistan team was also invited for the brief function'', another official said.

Later, the Pakistan team joined the Indian team for dinner.

Some Indian players including Sreesanth, R P Singh, Praveen Singh were seen playing snooker.

A verbal fight between Gautam Ghambhir and Shahi Afridi was seen during the one-dayer and both were cautioned by the umpires.
