Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of the coaches for the Pakistan Cricket Team on Sunday (April 28).
The PCB has named two different coaches for them for two formats. One coach will take over the Red Ball format while the other will be looking after the limited over assignments.

Former India coach Gary Kirsten will begin his role with the Pakistan team right after his responsibilities in the IPL with Gujarat Titans. He will lead the team through major tournaments including the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan, the ACC T20 Asia Cup 2025, and the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
Jason Gillespie is set to take over the red-ball team's coaching duties starting with the ICC World Test Championship matches against Bangladesh at home in August. His tenure will also see Pakistan playing test series against England at home in October and South Africa away in December during the 2024-25 season.
Former Pakistan international Azhar Mahmood has been named as the assistant coach across all formats. All coaches have been tied down with a two-year contract.
"I extend my congratulations to Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten on their appointments as the red and white-ball head coaches of the Pakistan men's cricket team, respectively. Their stellar track records precede them, and I warmly welcome them to the Pakistan cricket family," PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi said after the appointment.
