Pakistan Cricket: 'Why Should His Name Come?' - Ahmed Shehzad goes on Epic Rant against Mohammad Haris for Running 'PR Campaign'

Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad had a meltdown when asked about why Mohammad Haris was not included in the Pakistan squad.

Pakistan announced their team for the upcoming Ireland and England T20Is. The players in the squad will likely make it to the T20I World Cup. Mohammad Haris' name was not included which created a stir on the other side of the border.

Haris Shehzad

Fans of Mohammad Haris vehemently protested on social media against the decision. But Ahmed Shehzad lashed out at Haris for running campaign on social media and said he doesn't have any performances to be in the national team.

"I think Mohammad Haris doesn't have any performances so he didn't make the cut [for Ireland T20Is]. He made a 50 in PSL and then he was brought in [in the Pakistan Team]. People campaign for him but he didn't do anything worthy - scored 23 and 25 in World Cup. People struggle for eight, ten years but still don't get an opportunity," Shehzad ranted on Pakistani TV channel Geo News.

"What would a player do who doesn't have money or an agent? How can he maintain his own campaign then? Whenever a selection is made, everywhere I see complaints about why Haris is not in the team. Why should his name come? What performances does he have to be selected in the Pakistan team?" Shehzad continued.

Ahmed Shehzad continued to say that the 23-year-old doesn't even have a team to play in the four-day format and said this kind of campaign on social media will backfire on the players.

"People say let him play four-day cricket. None of the departments picked up and people are still campaigning for him. Believe me, this will backfire on him. All these campaigns against all these players will go against them," Shahzad added.

And Haris also doesn't have a glowing portfolio in international cricket. The batter has scored 30 runs in six ODI matches for Pakistan and has an average of 7.5. On the other hand, in T20Is, he has scored 126 runs with an average of 14 in 9 innings.
