Pakistan have announced a set of new coaches for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.
Pakistan are set to play a three-match T20I series against the Afghans in UAE from March 24, and for that, the PCB has finally named their new coaches.
Since the contract expiration of Saqlain Mushtaq, Pakistan didn't have any permanent coach. But they have finally announced Abdul Rehman as the interim head coach for the upcoming series.
Abdul Rehman is an experienced coach with more than a decade in the role of different Pakistani domestic sides. He has been the head coach for Southern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and is currently positioned as the assistant coach of PSL team Multan Sultans.

Pakistan have also roped in former pacer Umar Gul as their interim bowling coach, while Mohammad Yousuf and Abdul Majeed will continue as batting and fielding coach respectively.
Originally, Mohammad Yousuf was supposed to be promoted as head coach but the PCB chairman Najam Sethi made a fresh announcement on Monday (March 14). He tweeted a list of support staff and the new members of their coaching team, contradicting their earlier announcement. PCB clarified their earlier statement was inaccurate as Yousuf will only continue as batting coach.
Umar Gul, who has 427 wickets for Pakistan across all formats, retired from the game in 2020 and has been into coaching since then. He was with Quetta Gladiators in the PSL last season, and has also worked as a bowling coach for Afghanistan in the past.
Pakistan have made a host of changes for their Afghanistan series as many senior players have been rested. A new look Pakistan team has included many youngsters and is set to be captained by Shadab Khan.
