Pak gives clean chit to India in Lahore attack

By Super Admin

New Delhi, Mar 6: After hinting initially India may be behind the attack on the Sri Lankan Cricket team in Lahore, Pakistan's Interior Ministry chief Rehman Malik gave clean chit to India. He ruled out India's involvement in attack.

Investigators have not found any evidence of India's involvement in the attack, Rehman said. He also rejected speculation about the possible involvement of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Malik said the attack on Sri Lankan cricketers could be the work of al-Qaeda.

The police have arrested four key suspects in connection with the attack on the Sri Lankan players on Tuesday, Mar 3 in Lahore.

Pakistan authorities have identified those responsible for attack. The government later announced the arrest of two people — Faisal Nawaz and Khurram Nawaz — from Lahore.

Almost 300 people, including some Afghanis, have also been detained in connection with the attack in which five security personnel and two other people were killed.
