An unnamed member of Pakistan's squad at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 has reportedly been fined after allegedly behaving inappropriately with a female hotel staff member during the team's stay in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
According to a report by Telecom Asia Sport, the incident took place at the Golden Crown Hotel, where the Pakistan team was staying during the tournament.

The alleged misconduct occurred shortly before Pakistan's final Super Eight match against Sri Lanka. Sources quoted in the report claimed that the Pakistan player behaved inappropriately with a female housekeeping staff member inside the hotel premises.
"Before Pakistan's last Super Eight match against Sri Lanka, a Pakistan World Cup squad player misbehaved with a female housekeeping staff member," the report said.
The staff member reportedly raised an alarm, prompting other hotel employees to intervene.
Following the commotion, hotel staff members reportedly rushed to assist the employee after hearing her call for help.
The matter was then brought to the attention of Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema, who intervened and handled the situation internally.
The identity of the player involved has not been publicly disclosed.
Senior officials at the Golden Crown Hotel were reportedly angered by the incident and sought strict action against the cricketer involved.
However, according to the report, Cheema apologised to the hotel authorities on behalf of the player and resolved the issue internally.
The player was reportedly fined as part of the disciplinary action taken by team management.
Although the issue was addressed within the team during the tournament, the matter could still lead to further scrutiny from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Reports suggest the player may have to appear before the PCB's disciplinary committee once the squad returns home, where further action could be considered.
The off-field controversy surfaced shortly after Pakistan's campaign in the T20 World Cup 2026 came to an end.
Despite defeating Sri Lanka in their final Super Eight match, Pakistan failed to qualify for the semi-finals due to net run rate, bringing their tournament run to a disappointing close.
