Pakistan has announced their men's and women's squads for the upcoming Asian Games 2023 cricket events, scheduled to be played from September 28 to October 7 in T20 format at the Zhejiang University of Technology in Hangzhou, China.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday (August 24) confirmed that all-rounder Qasim Akram will lead Pakistan men's team in the 19th Asian Games. The 20-year-old Qasim, has previously captained Pakistan U19 in the ICC U19 World Cup in 2022.

In the 15-member squad, there are eight players who have already represented the Pakistan men's team at the international level. Aamir Jamal, Arshad Iqbal, Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Shahnawaz Dahani and Usman Qadir are the eight players.
As per the tournament's rule, Shaheens will feature in the event from the quarter-finals stage scheduled to take place on 3 and 4 October. The semi-finals will be played on 6 October, while the final will take place on 7 October. The match for a Bronze medal will also take place on Saturday, 7 October.

Non-traveling reserves - Abdul Wahid Bangalzai, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Muhammad Irfan Khan Niazi and Mubasir Khan.
Meanwhile, Nida Dar was named the captain of the Pakistan women's cricket team for the Asian Games 2023 by the PCB when the squad was announced last month.
Among the other members who have made it to the squad are left-arm spinner Anosha Nasir, batter Shawaal Zulfiqar, leg-spin-bowling all-rounder Syeda Aroob Shah, medium-pacer Diana Baig, bowling all-rounder Fatima Sana and all-rounder Natalia Pervaiz.
