Pakistan bowler Shaheen Afridi has announced the birth of his first child on Monday (August 26).

Shaheen Afridi announced on social media that on 24th August, he and his wife has given birth to their newborn son.

"This moment changes everything! 🥹 My heart is full and my life just got a whole lot better. 24/08/2024 will always be special to us. Welcome to the world my son, Aliyaar Afridi," Afridi wrote on social media.

The Pakistan pacer also shared a heartfelt message for his wife and thanked for the prayers and good wishes.

"I will forever be thankful to my wife for all the pain and sufferings she had to endure. She is literally the support system of our little family. I am grateful for all the lovely wishes and prayers coming our way. Remember my little family in your prayers," the post added.

What does the name Aliyaar mean?

Aliyaar or Aliyar is an Arabic name. The name means 'Champion, Eminent'.

The pacer got married to former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha Afridi. The duo tied the knot on February 3 in 2023.
