The Pakistan Super League (PSL), a premier T20 tournament organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), was founded in 2016 and has been held for 9 editions so far across venues in Pakistan and UAE.
PSL has been held every year or season with six teams battling for the title over the years. However, in the first two season only five teams competed in the tournament, which has seen players from overseas and Pakistan light the stage.

Season 1 and 2 were competed by five teams, while seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 saw six teams battle for the coveted title with the addition of Multan Sultans to the existing five.
Also, 2016 season was completely held in UAE in Dubai and Sharjah, while 2021 season was partially held in Abu Dhabi. The remaining editions were held across venues in Pakistan.
