Pakistan get a slight boost in their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 qualification hopes after spell of dry weather in flood-hit Florida, where three matches from Group A will be staged at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill.
After losing the opening two matches - an upset defeat to USA followed by a loss to arch-rivals India, Pakistan stared at an early elimination from the T20 World Cup. But, the 2009 champions, stayed alive with a win over Canada, and USA's defeat to India.

Team India has sealed a Super Eight spot from Group A with a game in hand, while USA on 4 points can also join them with a win in their final group stage game against Ireland.
A defeat for the tournament co-hosts on Friday (June 14) will bring Pakistan back into the Super 8 picture, but they still need to beat Ireland to give themselves a chance of progression.
However, the weather in Florida seems to be a dampner for the Asian giants with thunderstorms and persistent rains leading to floods in the state since the start of the week.
The weather on Wednesday (June 12) was disappointing, but there was some hope after the dry spell on Thursday (June 13). Pakistan fans will hope for similar weather of even improved conditions as USA vs Ireland wash out could mean the end of the road for them.
According to a report on ESPNCricinfo, Lauderhill was dry until late afternoon on Thursday (June 13), but a light drizzle was witnessed in the evening with flash flood warnings remaining intact.
Lauderhill will host three matches in the next three days, but the weather although there was a dry spell doesn't look promising with thunderstorms predicted for the USA vs Ireland match on Friday (June 14).
There is chance of rains during the playing hours and the conditions may not allow even for a 5-over game to determine the result despite taking the additional 90 minutes into consideration. Check out the weather forecast according to AccuWeather during the playing hours:
The match is scheduled to start at 10:30 AM Local Time, meaning the start it self could see some delay going by the forecast, but if the weather holds good like Thursday (June 13), then we could see some action on Friday (June 14).
So, if Ireland and USA match is abandoned, Pakistan's fate will be known much before their match on Sunday (June 16). Similarly, Canada, who also have a outside chance with Ireland will also be knocked out of the race should rain play spoilsport in the June 14th match.
According to AccuWeather, there is no flood warning for Saturday (June 15) and Sunday (June 16) as it stands, meaning there is slight hope of India vs Canada and Pakistan vs Ireland match taking place with slight interruptions.
However, today's result will be key for the other three teams in Group A as a wash out will see USA progress with 5 points as Pakistan and Canada can only reach a maximum of 4 points even if they win their remaining matches.
