Pakistan Tour Of Bangladesh: Men In Green Name 16-Member Squad For 2-Match Test Series, Four Uncapped Players Earn Call-Ups

Pakistan have announced a 16-member squad for their upcoming red-ball tour against Bangladesh. The two-match series will be part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship cycle. The Pakistani side is currently placed fifth on the table with a point percentage of 50%, while Bangladesh are eighth on the table with 16.67%.

Shan Masood continues to lead the team. However, the Men in Green have opted to inject fresh faces into the setup. Four uncapped players have been included in the travelling contingent.

Ahead of the tour, players not involved in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) will gather in Karachi for a red-ball training camp scheduled from April 27 to May 1.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has also announced its coaching staff for the Bangladesh tour, appointing former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed as head coach, with Asad Shafiq serving as batting coach and Umar Gul as bowling coach.

Who Are The Four Uncapped Players In The Side?

Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Ghazi Ghori have earned call-ups for the two-match Test series, which starts on 8 May.

Fazal and Awais: Both are left-hand batters who have been rewarded for their strong domestic performances.

Amad Butt: Butt is a bowling all-rounder with over a decade of experience in domestic cricket, having made his first-class debut in 2015.

Ghazi Ghori: Wicket-keeper batter Ghazi Ghori, who already has international exposure in white-ball cricket (ODI debut against Bangladesh), will be gearing up for the red-ball assignment.

Experienced Crop: The squad also includes veteran players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan and Salman Ali Agha, among others.
