Noor Ahmad has penned a national record in World Cup debut against Pakistan on Monday (October 23).
Afghanistan are up against Pakistan in Chennai in a crucial ICC World Cup 2023 match and the teenage spinner has made a fantastic debut at the grandest stage.

Noor Ahmad was brought into the team for the first time against Pakistan, and he has bowled an excellent spell in the match. On his debut, Ahmad picked up three wickets in his bowling spell, conceding just 49 runs.
The 18-year-old thus has the best figures for an Afghan bowler in his World Cup debut, surpassing Shappor Zadran's 2/20 against Bangladesh in World Cup 2015. The teenage spinner was excellent and rose up in the high-octane match.
Ahmad got three important wickets, as Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan all were his victims. He caught Shafique in front, and then backed it up with two huge scalps of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
Afghanistan are up against their Asian neighbours in a crucial match of the World Cup. Having lost three of their first four matches, the Afghans are struggling with just two points. They know another defeat can have curtains for them in the tournament.
