Who Won the Toss Today, PAK vs BAN World Cup 2023 Match 31: Bangladesh captain won the toss and elected to bat first against Babar Azam's Pakistan in ICC World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (October 31).
Pakistan and Bangladesh head into the match on the back of a long losing streak. While Pakistan have suffered four defeats on the trot, Bangladesh are on a five match losing run in the ongoing tournament.

In the most recent outing, Pakistan lost to Afgahnistan at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, while Bangladesh were stunned by Netherlands at the same venue as today in Kolkata.
As for the team news for Tuesday's match, Bangladesh have made one change from their defeat to Netherlands as all rounder Mahedi Hassan makes way for batter Towhid Hridoy.
Pakistan, on the other hand, have made three changes from their narrow loss to South Africa as Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz and Imam Ul Haq make way for Salman Agha, Usama Mir and Fakhar Zaman.
After opting to bat first, Bangladesh skipper Shakib said: "Looks like a dry wicket, we played the last game here, it was slow and there was turn. We have nothing to lose, we have to play well in the first 10 overs and hopefully we can go from there.
On performance so far and support, Shakib added: "We haven't been consistent enough, we have been doing bits and pieces but haven't performed collectively and that has been disappointing. There isn't much difference between in here and Dhaka in terms of culture so hopefully we will have some good support."
After being asked to bowl first, Pakistan captain Babar said: "We would also like to bat first. There might be some swing in it early on because there is some moisture in it."
On the last outing and team news, Babar added: "Last match we were good in all three departments. There was some good energy. I am also waiting for a big innings, I will try to convert into a hundred. Three changes, Imam, Shadab and Nawaz out. Fakhar, Salman and Usama in."
Pakistan XI: Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam (captain), Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Salman Agha, Usama Mir, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Haris Rauf.
Bangladesh XI: Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Mushfiqur Rahim (wicketkeeper), Mahmudullah, Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam.
Nasser Hussain and Shane Watson reckon the wicket, although a different one from the Netherlands vs Bangladesh game, is a lot more dry, which could bring spin into play. But they also feel a few patches could help the seam bowlers and expect another low-scoring match.
