Pakistan have registered a comprehensive victory by 7 wickets over New Zealand in the 2nd T20I on Saturday (April 20).
Pakistan won the Toss and decided to field first. And with the ball, their bowlers showcased their mettle as the Kiwis were bowled out for just 90 runs. The run chase from the home team was comfortable as they chased it down with almost 8 overs to spare.

New Zealand started in a decent fashion with Tim Seifert as they posted 16 runs after first two overs. But Shaheen Afridi struck in the 3rd over as Seifert departed with a rash shot at point. From then on, their innings crumbled. Mohammad Amir struck in his first over after returning to international cricket as he picked up Tim Robinson. Mark Chapman and Dean Foxcroft had promising starts but they faltered as well.
None of the Kiwi batters could score big as they failed in front of Pakistan's spinners. Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmed picked up two wickets each, while Shaheen Afridi was the star of the show with three wickets. In the end, the Kiwis were bowled out for a paltry 90 runs.
Pakistan lost Saim Ayub in the first over, but Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan steadied the run chase. Rizwan, in particular, played some exquisite shots as the pair added 37 runs before captain Babar was stumped in the bowling of New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell. But Rizwan continued and scored a fantastic unbeaten 45 off 34 balls as Pakistan secured an easy victory. Irfan Khan also played a decent cameo of 18 runs.
The two teams will lock horns again in the 3rd T20I on Sunday (April 21) at the same venue.
