Pakistan's Younis committed to Yorkshire till Sept end

KARACHI, Pakistan, May 18 (Reuters) Pakistan's senior batsman, Younis Khan, is to play for English country Yorkshire until the end of September.

Younis said today he was committed to Yorkshire until Sept 23 and was unlikely to represent his country in this period.

''I am not sure about my availability for Pakistan during this period. But after September I am always willing to play for my country,'' he told Reuters by telephone.

Younis refused to accept the Pakistan captaincy after the World Cup when Inzamam-ul-Haq retired from one-day internationals and stepped down from the captaincy.

''After the World Cup I had stepped aside to get away from the mainstream of Pakistan cricket. Playing county cricket has allowed me to get back to normalcy,'' he said.
