Pak planning spin-trap to weave web round England in World T20 encounter

By Super Admin

London, Jun.4 (ANI): Pakistan is banking upon its spin trio of Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik to trap England in their first encounter in the World Twenty20 Championship on Sunday.

Despite the fact that England has acquired former Pakistan leggie Mustaq Ahmed as its spin bowling coach, the Pakistan team management is confident of a fine show from the spinners.

"We know that England have Ahmed as one of their coaches but we are confident that our spinners will still do well against them on Sunday," said a team official.

Pakistan officials believe that slow blowers would be more effective in the tournament, The News reports.

They are hoping that their bowlers, particularly the spinners, would help the team begin the tournament on a winning note with a victory against England.

Ahmed had served as Pakistan's assistant coach during the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean.

Pakistan had a disastrous 2007 World Cup, as it was eliminated in the first round of the event following a shocking defeat against minnows Ireland. (ANI)
