Paris Olympics 2024: Cricket Fraternity Congratulates Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for Clinching Bronze Medal in Shooting

"I am just glad to win (my second medal), I feel proud and thank everyone for their blessings. I and my partner (Sarabjot) discussed our strategy before the match and are happy that everything fell in place," the 22-year-old Haryana girl said after clinching the medal.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Prime Minister expressed his admiration for the shooters and their outstanding performance:

"Our shooters continue to make us proud! Congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the #Olympics. Both of them have shown great skills and teamwork. India is incredibly delighted. The Prime Minister's message highlighted the exceptional skills and teamwork displayed by Manu and Sarabjot, acknowledging their dedication and hard work that led to this prestigious victory.

Beijing Olympics gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra took to his handle on X, and congratulated the duo for their historic feat. He wrote, "Manu & Sarabjot: You've done what no Indian shooting pair has done before. India's first Olympic shooting team medal. Savour this moment, you've earned it! Proud"

Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the first shooter to win an Olympic medal for India back in 2004 Athens where he bagged a silver in trap, congratulated Manu and Sarabjot for their achievement.

"Heartiest congratulations to Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the Paris Olympics! This victory is a testament to unwavering hard work and dedication. Special congratulations to Manu Bhaker for creating history by winning two medals at the same Olympics," he wrote.

"And that's another medal from the Shooting range!! Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot win the Bronze medal for India. That's a double medal for Manu in one Olympic Games and she still has one more event left," former India Olympian shooter Heena Sidhu posted on X.

Parth Jindal, the co-owner of JSW Sports, wrote, "Medal no 2 for INDIAAAAAA - medal number 2 for @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh #RuknaNahiHain @Paris2024 - come on - Vande Mataram JAI HIND India India India India India."

BCCI Honourary Secretary, Jay Shah posted on X, "Second medal for India! 🥉 @realmanubhaker and @Sarabjotsingh30 ~ you both were clinical today at the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze medal match! 🔥 Your resilience throughout the event was incredible. 🙌 Cherish this moment - it brings immense pride to our nation!"

Former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh congratulated Manu Bhaker for winning two medals in two days at the Paris Olympics. She became the first athlete in the Independent India to win two medals in a single edition of the quadrennial competition.

Former India cricketer and a JioCinema commentator Aakash Chopra also hailed the duo for making the nation proud.
