Patiala team lift Hot Weather cricket trophy

Patiala, Jun 8 (UNI) Local outfit, DMW, Patiala, won the 10th Hot Weather Cricket Tournament (Under-13), beating Mohali Cricket Association (MCA) by 47 runs in the final played at DMW ground here today.

Batting first, DMW scored 191 for 8 in the allotted 40 overs.

Anmol Malhotra scored 67 in a breezy fashion.

Gopal Halen (35), Nikhil Mahajan (22) and H Kamal (22 not out) were the other run getters. For MCA, Jaswinder captured 3 wickets, conceding 28 runs.

In reply, MCA could score only 144 for 8 in 40 overs. Though Pokhraj played a fine knock of 61, the other MCA batsmen could not withstand the penetrative DMW bowling attack.

For DMW, Gopal Halen bowled well to bag 3 for 34.

Gopal Halen of DMW won the Man of the match award. Anmolpreet Singh of Black Elephant Cricket Club, Patiala, was declared Man of the Series.

Anmol Malhotra of DMW won the best batsman award, while Prabhjot Singh of Black Elephant was declared the best bowler of the tournament.
