PBKS IPL 2025 Full Squad: The Punjab Kings (PBKS) enter the 2025 IPL season under the stewardship of new head coach Ricky Ponting, aiming for a fresh start.
Punjab Kings have made the first buy of the IPL 2025 mega auction with the acquisition of Arshdeep Singh for Rs 18 crore. After SRH's Rs 15.75 crore bid was the highest, PBKS matched the bid and then matched the raised bid from Punjab Kings to get Arshdeep Singh through the RTM.

Punjab Kings have had a tumultuous IPL journey since the league's inception in 2008. Despite having some strong squads, they have yet to win the tournament. Their best performance came in 2014 when they reached the final, only to lose to Kolkata Knight Riders. Over the years, inconsistency in player retention and leadership has hampered their success. Heading into 2025, the team is determined to turn things around under Ponting's guidance.
Impressive all-rounder Shashank Singh has been retained along with Prabhsimran Singh. With just two retentions, Punjab are entering the auction with the smallest number of players at the moment.
Shashank Singh (Batter) - Rs 5.5 crore
Prabhsimran Singh (Batter) - Rs 4 crore
With just ₹9.5 crore spent on retentions, PBKS have ₹110.5 crore left for the mega auction. Along with that, they will also have 4 RTM cards which they can use in the auction.
The Kings, with the fattest purse of all the teams, are expected to stir a lot of bidding war.

After Arshdeep Singh was bought back for Rs 18 crore, The Punjab Kings continued their spending spree with the acquisition of Shreyas Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore, who became the second most expensive player in IPL history.
Yuzvendra Chahal became the third acquisition for the PBKS side as the India spinner was sold for Rs 18 crore. Glenn Maxwell has also returned to PBKS as he was roped in for Rs 4.2 crore.
