Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar bowled brilliantly for Punjab and picked up three wickets each as CSK managed 167 for 9 in their 20 overs.
Although it looked like a moderate chase, Punjab lost early wickets a Tushar Deshpande struck a double blow. Jonny Bairstow (7) and Rilee Rossouw (0) departed cheaply as Deshpande uprooted their poles. Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh tried to build a partnership and added 53 runs for the third wicket, but Shashank's untimely wicket created the PBKS landslide.

Jadeja picked three wickets while Simarjeet got two wickets. The duo bowled seven overs and had a combined figure of 5 for 36, which completely changed the dynamics.

Harpreet Brar and Kagiso Rabada tried to close the gap but the Punjab ship ran out of fuel way before their destination and could only manage 139 for 9 at the end of their full quota of overs.
