PBKS vs CSK: 'Worst, Go To Sleep' - Twitter Trolls Ajinkya Rahane after Another Failure

By MyKhel Staff

Ajinkya Rahane's dismal outing in the IPL 2024 continues as the Chennai Super Kings batter failed to make a mark again on Sunday (May 5) in the match against Punjab Kings.

Ajinkya Rahane had an outstanding IPL last year with CSK and there were high hopes for him this season as well. But the player has largely disappointed and it was the same against PBKS, as he got dismissed after just 9 runs.

PBKS vs CSK

Rahane has batted in all but one match this season but his performances are way below par. CSK tried him at the middle order and then he was promoted to open the batting in recent matches. But Rahane has failed to make a mark everywhere.

The 35-year-old has managed only 208 runs this season in 10 innings with a strike rate of 123. His highest score of 45 came against Delhi Capitals and the player has been dismissed in single digits thrice in the last five innings.

As Rahane was unable to give CSK a good start again, the fans vented their frustration on social media. The Indian batter replaced Rachin Ravindra at the top but the ploy has been a flop.

"The CSK franchise is known for backing their players but in the Ajinkya Rahane's case they are doing it more. I think it's time to drop him.He has got enough chances," a user said on X.

This fan didn't even want to see Ajinkya Rahane bat as he opened the innings.

It has been a disappointing season for Rahane with the bat. He had a different avatar last year and we could see a never seen before Rahane with aggression and all. The fire is missing this year.
