Punjab Kings are still in the race for the IPL 2023 Playoffs and a win against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday (May 15) is an absolute necessity to keep the hope alive.

The Kings are currently sitting 8th in the league table, but they have the potential to go as high as 3rd if they win against the Delhi Capitals. The Capitals are already out of the tournament and are rooted at the bottom of the table.

These two teams locked horns in their last match and PBKS won the match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium by 31 runs.

Shikhar Dhawan (PBKS): The Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan has led the team from the front this season. Despite a brief injury setback, the southpaw is by far the highest run-scorer for them this season.

Dhawan has scored 356 runs in 9 innings so far. The 37-year-old has already racked up 3 fifties and will be one of their main batters as they take on the Capitals.

David Warner (DC): Delhi Capitals captain David Warner has been the flagbearer of their batting as well. The Australian veteran has been immense for them but a collective struggle from the other batters has caused their downfall.

Warner has looked excellent though, with 384 runs in 12 matches, the DC captain has shown his devastating form in bits. And he will be crucial if they are to get something from the PBKS tie on Tuesday.

Liam Livingstone (PBKS): Liam Livingstone's season with Punjab Kings has been an underwhelming one. Apart from a superb 82, he has managed only 94 runs in the remaining 6 innings and has failed to live up to the billing.

But the devastating batter is a match-winner and has the ability to take the game away in a matter of overs. As PBKS prepare for a must-win tie, a lot will be expected of the 29-year-old. And if Livingstone survives around 20-25 balls, it can be assured carnage.

Philip Salt (DC): Amid DC's unreal batting struggle this season, another player who has shown glimpses of bright spots in Philip Salt.

The Welshman has scored runs in rapid fashion for them, and played a crucial part in their blitzkrieg win over Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier. Salt has managed 189 runs in 7 innings thus far, at an impressive strike rate of 167.
