PBKS vs DC, IPL 2024: Four Batters Who Can Score Most Runs in Match 2

PBKS vs DC: The second match of IPL 2024 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals will kick off on March 23, Saturday at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mohali, Punjab.

Punjab Kings reached the finals of the tournament only once but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2014. On the contrary, Delhi Capitals also reached the finals only once but lost to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 season.

The Mohali based franchise and the Delhi-based franchise locked horns with each other on 32 occasions. Both teams fancied the chances and outsmarted the other 16 times each, making it all square in the overall head-to-head.

Let's now take a glimpse at the four batsmen from both teams who can muster the most runs in the second match of the tournament.

1. Shikhar Dhawan: Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan is the second leading run-getter in IPL history as he accumulated 6617 runs at an average of 35.4 including 2 centuries and 50 fifties. The senior pro has a great chance to enter the 7000-run club alongside Virat Kohli if he keeps going about his work. The 38-year-old is expected to get off to a good start to this campaign and will be eyeing to make his presence count against Delhi Capitals.

2. David Warner: Delhi Capitals will benefit immensely from Warner's services in the upcoming season. The experienced southpaw has been quite exceptional in dictating the terms and scoring runs at a rate of knots. His aggressive approach has caused all sorts of troubles to the opposition teams. Having been a part of the IPL since 2009, the 37-year-old scored 6397 runs at an average of 41.5 and a strike rate of 139.9, laced with 4 centuries and 61 fifties.

3. Prabhsimran Singh: The Mohali-based franchise did the right thing to retain the Patiala-based wicketkeeper-batter ahead of the auction. Known for his hard-hitting exploits, Prabhsimran Singh's century knocked Delhi Capitals out of the competition in IPL 2023. The right-handed batter who started to get the hang of things must be looking forward to expressing himself in the upcoming season. He is certainly one of the batters to watch out for in the PBKS' batting unit.

4. Rishabh Pant: The fans from every nook and corner of the cricket fraternity are curiously waiting to see Rishabh Pant back in action. The Delhi Capitals captain is fit and raring to make his presence count in the upcoming IPL. Having played 98 games in the IPL, the 26-year-old mustered 2838 runs at an average of 34.6 and a strike rate of 148, including 1 century and 15 fifties. After being away from action for quite a long time for obvious reasons, he will be eyeing to start the campaign on a positive note.
