Ben Dwarshuis has become the second bowler, after David Payne, with the most number of T20 wickets at the time of IPL debut. Playing for the Punjab Kings in IPL 2026, the left-hand bowler from Australia has 236 wickets to his name.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings delivered a commanding batting performance to post 210/5 against the Delhi Capitals in their IPL 2026 clash at the HPCA Stadium. Asked to bat first, PBKS combined an explosive start with a composed middle phase and a late flourish to cross the 200-run mark comfortably.

Punjab's Blistering Start Against DC
The innings was built on a sensational Powerplay led by Priyansh Arya. The left-hander smashed a rapid 56 off 33 balls, bringing up his half-century in just 24 deliveries. Alongside Prabhsimran Singh (18), he powered Punjab to a massive 72/0 in the first six overs, with the duo adding 78 runs for the opening wicket. Arya's aggressive strokeplay put Delhi on the back foot early, taking full advantage of the batting-friendly conditions in Dharamsala.
After the early breakthrough, skipper Shreyas Iyer took charge of the innings. He crafted a fluent 59 off 36 balls, stabilising the middle overs while maintaining a healthy scoring rate. Iyer shared a crucial 83-run stand with Cooper Connolly, who chipped in with a valuable 38 off 27 deliveries. The partnership ensured PBKS didn't lose momentum despite a brief slowdown in the middle phase, keeping them on course for a big total.
DC Pulls Things Back Late In The Innings
Delhi Capitals found some success in the latter half, with debutant Madhav Tiwari impressing by picking up two key wickets, including Arya and Connolly, to finish with figures of 2/40. Mitchell Starc also struck twice in a dramatic 19th over, removing Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh in quick succession, narrowly missing out on a hat-trick.
However, Suryansh Shedge provided the finishing touch with a blistering 21* off just eight balls, ensuring Punjab crossed the 200-run mark. With contributions across the lineup and a strong foundation laid early, PBKS put themselves in a commanding position heading into the second innings.
