PBKS vs KKR IPL 2025: Shreyas Iyer gets Out for Duck as Ramandeep takes a World Class Catch, Social Media Reacts

Shreyas Iyer has not had the best of outings against his former employers in the IPL 2025 on Tuesday (April 15).

Playing against Kolkata Knight Riders, Iyer departed for a duck in two balls at the Mullanpur Stadium.

Harshit Rana's short ball was cut fiercely by Iyer, but Ramandeep Singh took a majestic forward catch to send the PBKS captain to the hut without troubling the scorers.

Harshit Rana was jubilant his celebration as he got the number of his former captain, having just taken the wicket of dangerous Priyansh Arya earlier in the over. Iyer has already scored three fifties in the tournament, and his wicket is a massive one for the three-time IPL champions.

Iyer started off the season with unbeaten 57 and 92 against LSG and GT respectively. He also managed to scored 82 against SRH in the crazy match in Hyderabad, which saw Punjab losing despite boarding 245 runs.

The India batter was also awarded as the Player of the Month for March by ICC after his scintillating outing for India during the Champions Trophy, but failed to capitalize on that with the bat for the Kings.

The fans trolled the Punjab captain for his underwhelming outing with the bat. It was a superb catch by Ramandeep which saw the departure of Shreyas, but the former KKR captain was criticized for his third score of less than two digits in the last four matches.

The fans also pointed out that Shreyas Iyer has scored only 7 ducks since IPL 2016, and three of them have come against the Knight Riders.

Social media also hailed Ramandeep Singh for his outstanding catch. It was indeed a special grab by the KKR fielder who came forward with pace and took a worldie.

Shreyas Iyer was at KKR for the last three seasons and his first outing since leaving the Knight Riders is an underwhelming one.
