Punjab Kings' bowler Xavier Bartlett made a hilarious mistake in the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday.
The Punjab player has made his IPL debut in the match and has had a moment to forget already in his budding career.

The Australian pacer replaced Lockie Ferguson in the team and scored 11 crucial runs with the bat. He also picked up a wicket in his very first IPL over as Quinton de Kock was the scalp, but the Aussie made a howler while fielding.
In the 8th over, Yuzvendra Chahal had just got the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane. Venkatesh Iyer came in and swept the very first ball. Bartlett picked the ball up at the deep backward square-leg area. Just as he threw the ball, it bizarrely took a slip off his fingers, hit his shoulder and then trickled away past the boundary curtains. While the throw, somehow, the ball slipped out of his hand, probably because of dew. Chahal was extremely unhappy with the effort while captain Shreyas Iyer could only sulk his face in dismay.
KKR batters took one run already and as the ball was thrown first, it was given as four overthrows, adding a total of 5 runs to KKR's total. The Knights are currently 72 for 4 after ten overs and are edging towards two crucial points.
Opting to bat first, PBKS faced a formidable KKR bowling attack. Harshit Rana set the tone early, dismissing Priyansh Arya (22 off 12) and captain Shreyas Iyer (0) in the fourth over. Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine further dismantled the middle order, claiming two wickets each. The hosts were bundled out for a mere 111 runs in 15.3 overs.
