PBKS vs KKR Toss Update, Playing 11 IPL 2025 Match 31: Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first after winning the toss against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on April 15, 2025 (Tuesday).
After winning the toss, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer said: "Shreyas Iyer: We are going to bat first. Feel the wicket has been really well for the last couple of matches, the dew comes in but the outfield doesn't skid through. Don't remember the team changes, I will tell later. We need to take as many catches in the fielding and create some sort of brilliance."

Meanwhile KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said: "We were looking to bowl first on this wicket. For me, toss is something you cannot control. We have a batting that can chase the target. Just one change. Nortje comes in for Moeen Ali. He has been working hard on his game and I am really looking forward to see him bowl tonight."

The surface at Mullanpur is rock-hard with even bounce, ideal for batting. Short boundaries-70m on one side, 61m on the other, and 75m straight-make it a high-scoring venue. Teams batting first have consistently posted 200+ and successfully defended their totals. However, Punjab Kings have struggled here, winning just 2 of their 7 matches. Notably, PBKS have also failed to make early breakthroughs, taking few wickets in the powerplay.
