Punjab Kings played out a thrilling encounter in the IPL 2024 against Mumbai Indians on Thursday (April 18).
After a pulsating match, it was Mumbai Indians who prevailed in the nail-biter. The Paltans won the match by 9 runs at the Mullanpur Stadium.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted 192 for 7 at the end of 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav scored a fantastic 78 while Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma also played two decent knocks. The former MI captain scored 36 runs while Tilak Varma scored 34. PBKS pacer Harshal Patel picked up 3 wickets, followed by Sam Curran who got two scalps to his name.
In the run chase, the Kings were rocked early by Jasprit Bumrah. They were tottering at 14 for 4 but Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma started the revival. The former scored 41 runs off 24 balls, while Ashutos went on to play a blinder of 61 runs in just 28 balls, hitting 2 fours and 7 sixes in the process. But Ashutosh's dismissal dealt a major blow and the Kings fell short of 9 runs.
