PBKS vs RCB Awards List: Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a superb victory by 8 wickets in the Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2025 against Punjab Kings on Thursday (May 29) at the Mullanpur Stadium.
With the win, RCB have progressed to the Final of the IPL this season, while Punjab Kings will now be taking part in the Qualifier 2.

Venue: Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium, Mullanpur
Result: RCB won by 8 wickets
Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a clinical performance to storm into the IPL 2025 Final with a crushing 8-wicket victory over Punjab Kings. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, RCB's bowlers dismantled the PBKS batting unit, skittling them out for just 101 in 14.1 overs - one of the lowest totals in IPL playoff history.
PBKS suffered a dramatic top-order collapse under relentless pressure from RCB's attack. Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal inflicted early damage with two wickets each, while young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma dealt the fatal blow with a stunning over that claimed three scalps.
None of PBKS's key batters managed to settle, with the likes of Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Josh Inglis, Shreyas Iyer, and Marcus Stoinis all dismissed cheaply. The innings never recovered, as wickets fell in a heap and the side was bundled out for 101.
Chasing a modest target, RCB began confidently. Despite losing a couple of wickets, they never looked in trouble. Phil Salt played an unbeaten knock of 56 runs in just 27 runs as RCB chased down the total at a canter, within 10 overs.

Suyash Sharma is the POTM for his 3 for 17 in his three overs.
"We're very clear about our plans on where to bowl and the fast bowlers executed superbly. And Suyash Sharma chipped in as well. (on Suyash) As a captain, I am clear about his bowling as he has to be withing stumps as that's his strength. I am okay if he concedes runs but my plan is clear to him. We've done lot of practice throughout and if we miss one, it won't harm you. (Phil Salt) The way he is batting in most matches is a treat to watch. I am a big fan of him. (being in the final) I thank the RCB fans wherever we go, we feel that's our home ground. Thank you for supporting us. One more game and let's celebrate together."

The Post-Match Presentation starts.

Suyash Sharma was amazing with the ball as the RCB leg spinner picked up 3 wickets in the match.
"It's a great feeling right now. We had a second bite but we made it through in the first attempt. The ball did move a bit but I think overall it was not the worst wicket we've played this season. I was thinking not to get out of Arshdeep as he has dismissed me twice."
"Not a day to forget, but we have to go to the drawing board. We were befuddled and lost a lot of wickets. Something to go back and study. Not doubting on my decisions in terms of planning. Outside of the ground, it was on point. Couldn't execute, can't blame our bowlers. It was such a low total. Got to work on our batting, on this wicket. In all games here, there has been variable bounce. Can't give such reasons because we are professionals and we have to live up to it. We have lost the battle but not the war."
RCB have reached the IPL finals after 9 years, for the first time since 2016 when they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Final.
'We've lost the battle, but not the war', says Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer.
Punjab Kings are still alive and will now play either Gujarat Titans or Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 2.
