Both the teams have 8 points after playing eleven games this season. Seventh-placed RCB is immediately followed by PBKS. After starting the campaign with a victory over DC, Punjab failed to continue the winning streak.

In their last three matches, they beat CSK and KKR and made the record for the highest-ever successful run-chase in the history of T20 cricket. RCB also made a huge comeback with three successive wins after losing six matches in a row.

IPL 2024 PBKS vs RCB: Bowling Squad Comparison

Punjab have a pacer-heavy squad in this season. Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, and Harshal Patel all remain expensive despite getting wickets regularly. In the spin department, Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar are in decent form. Chahar picked six wickets in his last three matches.

For RCB, it was always the batters who got all the limelight. A highly batting-heavy team throughout their history maintained their reputation. Yash Dayal, Mohammed Siraj and Cameron Green are the only bowlers from RCB in the top 50 wicket-takers list of the season. Karn Sharma and Vijaykumar Vyshak will be the most probable spinner options for the Bengaluru side.

IPL 2024 PBKS vs RCB: Who Will be the Top Four Wicket-takers in Match 58?

Harshal Patel (PBKS): The Indian right-arm medium-fast bowler is in the second position in the race for the Purple Cap with 17 wickets. The 33-year-old, despite leaking too many runs, has been able to get wickets in the slog overs. He has 11 wickets only from the slog overs. Against the powerful RCB batting line-up, his skill will be important for Punjab.

Arshdeep Singh (PBKS): The 25-year-old youngster is the second-highest wicket-taker for Punjab with 15 wickets. The left-arm medium-fast bowler can be crucial against the heavily right-handed RCB batting line-up. along with skipper Sam Curran, it will be a challenge for him to get an early breakthrough during the powerplay overs.

Yash Dayal (RCB): With 10 wickets in 10 matches the 26-year-old is a key element in the RCB's sudden comeback. After a below-average start to the season, the left-arm medium-fast bowler has been brilliant in the last few matches. A few early wickets from the Punjab top-order can be detrimental for the host, and for this, the Challengers will be highly dependent on him.

Mohammed Siraj (RCB): The 30-year-old right-arm medium-fast bowler is yet to shine up in this IPL. With only 8 wickets so far, Siraj is the only seasoned pacer in the squad. It is high time for him to step up for the team. As he is selected to represent India in T20 WC 2024, a good performance from him will be hoped for.

For both the teams all the matches are now final. To qualify for the playoffs the most basic criteria is to win all of the upcoming matches along with improving the run rates. RCB will certainly be confident about the fixture due to their recent forms, but PBKS is also known for being unpredictable. Hence, a highly competitive battle can be expected from these two belligerents.
