As Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 Qualifier 1 on Thursday (May 29), Virat Kohli will be the prime player to watch.
The India stalwart's form has been tremendous this season, where he has led RCB's revival with the bat. Kohli has delivered a stellar performance in IPL 2025 so far, amassing 602 runs in 13 innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru at an average of 60.20 and a strike rate of 147.91.

His campaign includes eight fifties, reinforcing his role as RCB's batting mainstay. Kohli became the first player to score 9,000 runs for a single IPL franchise, a feat that cements his legendary status. He also overtook David Warner to hold the record for most IPL half-centuries (63).
As RCB take on PBKS today, Kohli's performance will be a huge factor. Although RCB have played superbly as a team so far, the India legend scoring run will be an added advantage for them. The Bengaluru outfit finished 2nd in the league table, which means they will have two bites at the Final. Even if they lose the qualifier 1, RCB would get another opportunity to qualify for the final through the Qualifier 2.
Despite Virat Kohli's rich IPL legacy, the RCB mainstay has been underwhelming when it comes to IPL playoffs. So far, the Delhi-born batter has managed only 341 runs in 15 playoff matches, with a paltry average of just over 26. He has only managed two fifties, with the best of an unbeaten 70 which came against Chennai Super Kings way back in 2011. His other fifty came in the 2016 Final against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he scored 54 runs in 35 deliveries.
