PBKS vs RCB: Virat Kohli Survives Run-Out Scare After Mix-Up With Rajat Patidar, Leaves King Kohli Furious

PBKS vs RCB: In a dramatic moment during the 15.4th over of the second innings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli narrowly escaped a run-out that could have turned the match on its head.

Facing Arshdeep Singh, Kohli nudged a delivery through the leg-side and immediately called for a second run, showing his trademark urgency between the wickets.

However, his batting partner Rajat Patidar wasn't on the same page. While Kohli had already committed to the second run and was almost at the striker's end, Patidar hesitated, causing confusion in the middle. This led to a serious mix-up, leaving both batters momentarily stranded.

A throw came in at the bowler's end, offering a golden opportunity for a run-out, but the throw was wide and went astray. Shreyas Iyer, who was backing up, had a chance to salvage the moment with a direct hit but failed to capitalize. The RCB captain made it back just in time, surviving what could have been a calamitous dismissal at a crucial stage of the game.

Kohli, visibly livid after the close call, expressed his frustration toward Patidar, knowing how critical each run was in the context of the chase. His reaction made it clear that such lapses in communication are not acceptable, especially during a high-pressure run-chase.

While the miscommunication didn't cost RCB a wicket on this occasion, it served as a reminder of how crucial clear calling and coordination are during tense moments in T20 cricket.

Nonetheless, Virat remained not-out in the run-chase of 158 as he scored 73 off 54 balls. He was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his valuable contribution to guide his side to a 7-wicket victory.

Earlier, Punjab batting first managed to put up just 157/6 on the board with Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh scoring 33 and 31 respectively to get Punjab past 155-plus score.
