Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a convincing victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Match 18 of the IPL 2025 on Saturday (April 5).
The Mullanpur Stadium witnessed a dominant performance from the Royals as Sanju Samson's team won their second match in a row, this time a win by 50 runs.

The defining moment of the contest came in the very first over of Punjab's run chase. Jofra Archer, steaming in with pace and purpose, struck with his very first delivery-removing Priyansh Arya for a golden duck with a peach that crashed into the off-stump.
Later in the same over, he clean-bowled PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer, who had looked confident after hitting two boundaries. The double strike in the first six balls left Punjab in tatters at 16/2 and swung the momentum firmly in Rajasthan's favor.
Archer finished with superb figures of 3 for 25 in his four overs. He returned to deliver the final over of the innings and picked up his third wicket by dismissing Arshdeep Singh, capping off a near-perfect outing. His pace, accuracy, and ability to strike early set the tone and rattled Punjab's top order.
While Archer stole the spotlight, the rest of the Royals' bowling attack complemented him well:
Sandeep Sharma chipped in with timely wickets, including a sharp caught-and-bowled to send Marcus Stoinis back. Maheesh Theekshana applied pressure in the middle overs, choking the flow of runs and breaking partnerships at crucial junctures. Collectively, the RR bowlers executed their plans flawlessly, never allowing PBKS a sniff of the chase.
