Punjab Kings are up against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a crucial IPL 2024 match on Tuesday (April 9) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Punjab are placed 6th and the Hyderabad side is currently 5th in the IPL table. They both have 4 points after playing four matches but SRH have a better Net Run Rate.

Punjab Kings secured a magnificent victory over Gujarat Titans in the last match courtesy of a fantastic knock by Shashank Singh. SRH also had an easy win over Chennai Super Kings in their last match.
The Kings haven't had a playoff appearance in the last nine seasons and will be desperate to achieve that in this one. They have been inconsistent over the years and it is going to be a big test for them against the dominant batting unit of SRH. Shikhar Dhawan is likely to field the same team from the last match but someone like Rilee Rossouw can come in to replace Sikandar Raza.
SRH have alternate wins this season and needs a win to get into the playoff spots. The Hyderabad outfit has showcased their batting prowess already when they posted the highest score in IPL history against Mumbai Indians, scoring 277. The Punjab match has historically been a decent one for them as the Orange Army has won 14 out of 21 meetings.
SRH may persist with Nitish Reddy, who played a decent knock at the flag end of their chase against CSK. Mayank Agarwal is likely to continue to stay on the bench.
