Following reports of misconduct by Pakistan left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi held a three-hour meeting with coaches, selectors and other officials of the board on Monday, July 16.
Naqvi endorsed a zero-tolerance policy for any disciplinary violation by the players of the Pakistan cricket team. White-ball head coach Gary Kirsten, red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie, PCB CEO Salman Naseer, assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla, and selection committee members Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq - were part of the meeting held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

The PCB Chairman emphasised the most on the importance of discipline and team unity, calling these values non-negotiable. He asserted that any player found violating these principles would face strict consequences.
As per reports, senior pacer Shaheen Afridi got into a spat with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during Pakistan's tour of England just ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA.
The confrontation reportedly happened during a net practice at Headingley, where the star bowler reacted angrily to Mohammad Yousuf’s comments about his no-balls issue. However, Shaheen apologised to the former Pakistan great later.
A lot has been going on in Pakistan cricket after their first-round exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. The Babar Azam-led side lost against USA and India, failing to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the ICC showpiece event.
Wahab Riaz has been sacked from his role of team's senior manager and member of the selection committee. Former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq was also removed from the selection committee.
