PCB Chief Naseem Ashraf quits
Islamabad, Mar 20 (UNI) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Dr Naseem Ashraf has resigned from his post after the team's humiliating exit from the World Cup.
Dr Ashraf, who was appointed PCB chief in place of Shehriyar M Khan last September, faxed his resignation to the President General Pervez Musharraf last evening from the southern Sindh province, the Dawn newspaper reported.
His resignation comes a day after national team coach Bob Woolmer's tragic demise in team hotel in Jamaica, following the team's shocking defeat against minnows Ireland last Saturday.
General Musharraf, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of PCB is expected to take a decision on the issue today eveing.
