Former captains Inzamam-ul-Haq and Misbah-ul-Haq were officially inducted into the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Hall of Fame during the first ODI of the Tri-Series between Pakistan and New Zealand in Lahore on Saturday (February 8).
PCB recognised the two former stars' services towards the national men's team as the country's cricket body chairman Mohsin Naqvi presented Inzamam and Misbah their commemorative caps and plaques during the innings break at the Gaddafi Stadium.

After being presented with their caps and plaques, both Inzamam and Misbah went on a lap of honour around the ground wearing their commemorative caps as the duo received overwhelming applause from the spectators.
Inzamam-ul-Haq, who is Pakistan's highest run-scorer in ODIs with 11,701 runs and third highest run-getter in Tests with 8829 run, said he was deeply honoured to be joining a remarkable group and hoped the initiative will inspire the youngsters.
"I am deeply honoured to be inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame, joining a group of remarkable cricketers from my generation and those before me. To be recognized by the parent organization of Pakistan cricket is truly special, and I hope this initiative continues to inspire current and future generations of cricketers," Inzamam said.
Misbah, who was part of the 2009 T20 World Cup-winning team and led Pakistan to the top position in the ICC Men's Test Team Rankings in 2016, echoed Inzamam and said he was humbled to receive the honour.
"I am deeply honoured and humbled to be inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame, joining a distinguished group of Pakistan's finest cricketers who have not only excelled in the game but have also elevated the country's image on the global stage," Misbah said.
PCB had announced on January 10th that the two former captains will be inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame class of 2024 alongside Saeed Anwar and Mushtaq. The latter duo, however, are yet to be inducted formally into the prestigious list.
The PCB Hall of Fame, established in 2021 to honour the contributions of Pakistan's cricketing legends, includes icons like Abdul Qadir, A.H. Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan and Zaheer Abbas.
As per their original plan, an independent panel selects two inductees selects every year. In 2024, there were four inductees as there were no inductions in the year 2023, as per the PCB release.
