Former Pakistan bowler Junaid Khan has been appointed as the new Pakistan U-19 bowling coach just ahead of the U19 World Cup in South Africa.
The ex-Pakistan left-arm pacer has been roped in as the bowling coach as a replacement for Rehan Riaz, who will be unavailable due to a family emergency.

"Former left-arm pacer Junaid Khan has been named Pakistan U19 bowling coach, following the unavailability of Rehan Riaz, who has opted out of the ICC U19 World Cup due to a family emergency," a statement from PCB wrote on Sunday (December 31).
Junaid has previously served as the head coach of Islamabad Region and coached the team to victory in the Hanif Mohammad Trophy and Hanif Mohammad Cup 2023-24. The former Pakistan player represented his country in 22 Tests, 76 ODIs and 9 T20Is, picking up 189 international wickets across all formats.
The 34-year-old from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province is known for his excellent record against Virat Kohli. In six ODI matches against India, Junai Khan picked up 9 wickets, and once he got the wicket of Virat Kohli thrice in a row in ODIs.
The U-19 World Cup starts in South Africa from January 19 and will continue till February 21. Pakistan are placed in Group D alongside Nepal, Afghanistan and New Zealand.
