PCB officials against Babar Azam because of his stance against betting! Former captain makes shocking revelation

Pakistan Cricket Board chief Zaka Ashraf and Pakistan captain Babar Azam are at odds, reveals former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif.

After Pakistan's defeat against South Africa in the World Cup, the hopes of their semi-final have been extinguishing quite rapidly. With four defeats on the trot, the Pakistan team is on the brink of elimination, and will have to rely on other results in order to qualify for the semi finals.

Babar Azam

Amid the chaos, people back in Pakistan have called for Babar Azam to withdraw his captaincy post. There have been reports that top PCB officials also want to get rid of Babar Azam and he may well get sacked after the World Cup.

But former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has revealed why PCB officials including the chief Zaka Ashraf don't want Babar at the helm. He has brought in a shocking allegation on PCB that the top brass don't want Babar as the Pakistan captain was against the betting companies who were sponsoring PCB events.

Babar was against surrogate betting companies who were sponsoring PCB & media houses. Babar strongly advocated against surrogate betting companies which the Govt later banned altogether.

"Babar Azam has been messaging the chairman for two days but he is not replying. On the other hand PCB is releasing press release on reviewing central contract. The media house is having problems as the betting surrogate companies were shut down. Babar Azam said himself that he won't allow these (betting companies), but franchise and PCB pressurizes the players to use the betting company products," Latif said on a show.

And Latif believes his act was not welcomed by PCB, who lost a big chunk of money as those betting surrogate companies got shut down. The former Pakistan captain also revealed that the players haven't received the salary for five months.

Pakistan will be playing against Bangladesh in their next match on October 31 in Kolkata.
