The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalised a PKR 1 billion (INR 301 crore) agreement with a private bank for the naming rights of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
This deal, spanning five years, mirrors a similar arrangement for Karachi's National Stadium. Although the PCB has yet to make an official announcement, insiders confirm the completion of the deal.

Gaddafi Stadium, named after Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 1974, will now bear the name of the bank.
"The deal is for one billion rupees while the board had sold naming rights for the Karachi stadium for 450 million dollars," an insider revealed.
Former PCB chairman and ex-captain Ramiz Raja initiated the process of selling naming rights for cricket stadiums in Pakistan in 2021.
The National Stadium in Karachi was renamed National Bank Cricket Arena during his tenure.
The new name of the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore can be National Bank Cricket Arena or National Bank Stadium, just similar to Karachi.
The current PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as the interior minister, continues this strategy. Naqvi's focus is on increasing revenue to fund renovations of three main stadiums ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
"Naqvi also wants to increase revenue streams to support domestic cricket which will benefit Pakistan cricket," added a source.
The funds from these deals are expected to significantly aid in upgrading facilities and infrastructure at key venues. This approach not only helps to maintain international standards but also ensures that local cricket benefits from improved amenities.
By securing substantial funds through naming rights, PCB aims to bolster its resources and invest in future projects. As the deal comes into effect, fans can expect better facilities and an overall enhanced experience at these iconic stadiums.
