PCB to request ICC for change in Champions Trophy rules

Lahore, May 24 (UNI) With the timimg of the Champions Trophy clashing with the holy month of Ramzan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking some changes in the ICC rules for the tournament to avoid difficulty to spectators.

''We will ask ICC to make some changes in playing rules during Champions Trophy as the event is colliding with Ramadan. There should be a gap of an hour in between the two innings so that the spectators should not face difficulty during their Iftar timings,'' PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf told mediapersons here yesterday.

Chief executives of the various cricket boards will gather here to discuss the arrangements being made for the Champions Trophy during the Asia Cup which begins from June 24.

The Champions Trophy is due to be held in September, with Ramzan due to begin by the middle of the same month.
