PCB to shortlist coach's name by next week

Lahore, May 25 (UNI) The three-member coach selection committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would meet next week to shortlist the application of candidates for the post of national team coach.

According to 'The News', PCB's Director of Cricket Operations Zakir Khan along with Mudassar Nazar and Imtiaz Ahmed would meet here next week to help out PCB in the appointment of a new national coach after coach Bob Woolmer's tragic death.

''We have received several applications for the job and the committee appointed by the Board to make recommendations over the appointment of a new coach will meet next week to discuss the issue,'' Zakir Khan said.

He also informed that the PCB was confident of the new coach's appointment by the end of next month as they have received applications from several good coaches from Australia and England, and added that the May 15 deadline for receiving applications from coaches would not be extended.
