PCB denies 'indiscplined' Nazir national squad berth

By Super Admin

Lahore, Jun.6 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken serious note of opening batsman Imran Nazir's disgruntled behaviour during a domestic Twenty20 match, and denied him a place in the national squad.

PCB chairman Ijaz Butt said Nazir would not be included in the team despite submitting a No-Objection-Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Cricket League (ICL) because of his indiscipline during the final of the National Twenty20 Cup.

Nazir was adjudged leg-before-wicket by umpire Nadeem Ghauri in the match. He reacted angrily to the decision by repeatedly hitting his bat on the ground.

Nazir also called Ghauri blind, The Dawn reports

He was later fined Rs.10,000 and suspended for three domestic matches by the match referee.

"The fine is not enough. The team does not need such indiscipline from players who believe that they will find a place in the national team after having paid the fine. It is not possible," Butt said. (ANI)
